Main research fields:

1) Ecophysiology and functional Ecology of Mediterranean woody plants. Ecophysiological processes related to adaptations and acclimation to stress factors, mainly drought and low temperatures, and main strategies of N uptake, storage, and remobilization.

2) Forest regeneration. Ecological processes involved in the colonization of oaks in shrublands and pinewoods, with emphasis in facilitative processes and seed dispersal.

3) Revegetation techniques. Nursery cultivation of forest plants, plant quality and technics for successful outplanting of Mediterranean forest plants. Also interested in the functional traits and physiological processess that drive field performance of planted trees.
